For most people, summer is about barbecues and beach days — but for haunters? July is when Halloween officially begins. And here at FrightMaps, it’s the true kick-off of the haunting season.

While the map officially goes live on September 28, this month is your chance to lock in your spot and make sure your haunt is front and center when the season begins.

⚠️ Important: Stay on the Map

We do this every year to keep the map accurate for the thousands of Halloween lovers who rely on it.

🧟‍♂️ On September 28, 2025, any haunt that hasn’t been updated in the 2025 calendar year will be removed from the map.

But don’t worry — it’s incredibly easy to stay visible.

✅ How to Keep Your Haunt Active

All you have to do is open the FrightMaps app and make any update to your listing. Seriously, that’s it.

Here are a few ways to signal your haunt is alive:

• Toggle the “isLive” switch to ON in the Manage House section

• Update your title

• Add or swap out photos or teaser images

• Refresh your description with this year’s theme

• Drop in a “Coming Soon” note

• Change your dates or times

Once you've done that — you're good to go. Your haunt will remain on the map and visible to everyone planning their October route.
